Zouk, Lebanon-based PE film manufacturer discusses market developments in Barcelona.

Râny Sfeir, Agricultural Engineer at Masterpak sal, attended Agricultural Film 2008 in Barcelona, Spain from 18-20 February 2008.

This two-day event, held at Fira Palace Hotel, was the first international conference for the agricultural and horticultural film industry. The conference brought together international experts, end users of agricultural and horticultural film, manufacturers, researchers and other members of the business community.

Presenters focused on enhancing film performance through material development, manufacturing processes and additives. They also discussed markets and applications of plastic greenhouse covers, tunnel film, mulch film, and silage film. Biodegradability and recycling of mulch film was also on the agenda.

As part of its commitment to customers in the agri sector, Masterpak will integrate knowledge gained at the conference to analyze and enhance their line of horticultural and agricultural films.

Established in 1979 in Lebanon, Masterpak sal co-extrudes and cuts PE films and flexible packaging products for the agricultural, construction, consumer, food and beverage, and industrial sectors. Products are destined for the local market, as well as Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and beyond.
