Fawzi Zougheib explores a new method for the pre-heater grinding on the corrugator line.

Unipak Nile Maintenance Supervisor, Fawzi Zougheib has recently introduced an efficient method for grinding a pre-heater. The pre-heater is a 2500 mm-long cylinder used to heat the paper in order to open its porosity and remove humidity.

While traditional grinding method consists of removing the pre-heater from the corrugator machine in order to be grinded for 10 days, Fawzi began grinding the cylinder as it is fully functioning on the corrugator.

This new method saves USD 2000 per grinding process, decreases waste generated from wrapped and delaminated sheets and increases speed on the corrugator.

Fawzi's strong attention to details and his initiative spirit allowed him to explore this method.

The Grinding practice is a large and diverse area of manufacturing and toolmaking. It can produce very fine finishes and very accurate dimensions; yet in mass production contexts it can also rough out large volumes of metal quite rapidly. [1]
