‘Walk for Al Younbouh 2011’ joined members from the community to advocate one unified message of acceptance of individuals with mental disabilities in Lebanon.

On 8 May 2011, Al Younbouh Rehabilitation Center for People with Special Needs hosted the annual walk to increase awareness, as well as encourage support of the organization’s mission ‘to improve the quality of life of its students and ensure their dignified integration within the community’.

Community members, officials, donors, humanitarian organizations, well-known personalities, schools and clubs, as well as representatives of the event’s corporate sponsors met at Fouad Chehab Stadium in Jounieh, Lebanon to walk for Al Younbouh.

Sanita, member of INDEVCO Group, sponsored and attended the 8th consecutive ‘Walk for Al Younbouh’. Sister company, Phoenix Machinery, in addition to other INDEVCO Group members, also participated in the annual walk.

The eventful walk was hosted by Tony Baroud, former member of the Lebanese national basketball team and now popular TV personality. Tony Hanna and Christina Sawaya, Lebanese singers, entertained the participants and students with their song performances.

Furthermore, Al Younbouh students delighted the crowd with a dance choreographed by Sami Hajj. The event also had the traditional olive tree planting in the Jounieh municipality garden next to trees planted from prior walks, as well as the Underground Fiesta playing and creating a fun ambiance.

Al Younbouh Rehabilitation Center is a non-residential center for adults with special needs in Haret Sakher, a suburb of Jounieh.[1]
