INDEVCO Group Honored at National Excellence Awards for Industry Ceremony

INDEVCO Group and member companies, MASTERPAK, Unipak, and Unipak Tissue Mill, were recognized for excellence in performance, leadership and social responsibility.

INDEVCO Group and member companies received awards in 5 different sub-categories at the National Excellence Awards for Industry on 1 June 2011, held at Holiday Inn Dunes in Verdun, Lebanon.

Lebanon Opportunities and Euro-Lebanese Centre for Industrial Modernization (ELCIM), created the event aiming at enhancing the private sector’s competitiveness by supporting and recognizing private sector industrial institutions, including large and small-to-medium sized (SME) companies, for industrial achievements.

National Excellence Awards for Industry, organized by InfoPro Events, was the first of its kind and will be held annually here forth.

Awards Received by INDEVCO Group and Member Companies

The National Excellence Awards for Industry honors accomplishments in 4 major areas including: innovation in products, performance of the product and process, corporate governance, and marketing. Each of these categories is further divided into 3 sub-categories.

Under the performance category, MASTERPAK, polyethylene (PE) film manufacturer, received the award for Industrial Exporter; Unipak, corrugated packaging manufacturer, for Technology Deployment for Productivity; and Unipak Tissue Mill, Jumbo tissue rolls manufacturer, for Energy Efficiency.

Furthermore, under the Qualitative awards section, Unipak Tissue Mill also received the award for HR Development Program of the Year. Finally, INDEVCO – Georges N. Frem Manufacturing Technologies Hub at American University of Beirut (AUB) was granted the award for Social Responsibility Program of the Year.

Eligibility for National Excellence Awards

All entrants in the event must represent Lebanese products, the “Certificate of Origin” reflecting over 40% of total product value being attributed to local value added. Furthermore, once receiving an award in a specific category, industrial firms are no longer eligible to enter or win in the same category for the consecutive three years.
