Interstate Container Cambridge GM Speaks at Delmarva Poultry Summit 2011

Pete Bugas, Interstate Container Cambridge General Manager, discusses the positive impact of supplying the poultry industry with GREENCOAT® wax-replacement boxes from Cambridge, MD.

Delmarva Poultry Summit 2011 focused on the importance of the poultry industry to Maryland and the entire Delmarva Peninsula. During the summit, Bugas spoke on a panel of top business leaders about how the poultry industry affects their companies. The summit took place on 14 December 2011 at Salisbury University, Franklin Perdue School of Business Auditorium, in Salisbury, Maryland.

Interstate Container Cambridge Contributes to Local Community

Bugas discussed Interstate Container Cambridge’s relationship with the poultry industry and its impact on the local economy, community, and environment.

The corrugated packaging manufacturer employs 103 citizens in Dorchester County, pumping income and buying power into the local economy. Furthermore, Interstate Container Cambridge purchases products and services from approximately 128 suppliers in the Virginia and Washington DC area, as well as a significant amount of paper from suppliers on the East Coast.

Interstate Container Cambridge believes in giving back to the community and society. Its employees are heavily involved with United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore and actively participate in Habitat Choptank, Adopt-a-Highway, Lee National Denim Day, March of Dimes, and A.C.E.S. program. The company contributes regularly to fundraisers and smaller charities.

Delmarva Poultry Summit explores various topics concerning the poultry industry, including the economic impact of the Maryland poultry industry on the Eastern Shore and challenges faced.  The goal of the summit is to create public awareness about the importance and deep reach of the poultry industry.
